In brief : Watergate is a flexible, self-supporting dam that uses the force of water to retain or divert water. It is portable and easily deployable.

Acquastop is the name given to the flood barriers used in contact with buildings. Made of aluminum, they are lightweight, durable, and can be clamped into various openings of a building. Sealing is ensured by the pressure applied on the EPDM gaskets.

For Acquastop barriers, they are custom-made, so the timeline is between 4 to 6 weeks depending on the order size and factory activity in Italy. For Watergate, it depends on stock availability. If in stock, the timeline is 1 to 2 weeks; otherwise, it ranges from 4 to 8 weeks depending on the order size.

Once the equipment is received, we will contact you to agree on a date for installation. Your presence is required to provide access to the different areas to be protected.

Yes. All necessary materials (excluding tools and silicone) are provided with the barrier upon delivery. Examples include screws, anchors, profiles, etc. However, note that if the barriers are installed by you, you are not eligible for the possibly reduced VAT rate of 6%. Also, Point Technique disclaims any responsibility for consequences arising from installations done by third parties.

Yes, provided the following conditions are met : The client acknowledges that (1) the work is carried out on a residential building whose first occupation occurred at least ten years before the date of the first invoice related to the work, (2) qafter the completion of the work, the residence is used either exclusively or primarily as a private dwelling, and (3) the work is supplied and invoiced to a final consumer. At least part of the material must be integrated into the building. If any of these conditions are not met, the standard VAT rate of 21% applies, and the client assumes responsibility for the payment of tax, interest, and fines. The reduced VAT applies only to the protection of the residential building. Any barrier installed in a detached annex, such as a garage, barn, garden path, or shed, which cannot cause flooding to spread into the dwelling, does not qualify for the reduced 6% VAT rate.

They must be stored in a dry place, away from light (UV). For Acquastop barriers, it is recommended to hang them by the handles to avoid permanent damage to the EPDM gaskets. It is also advisable to clean the barrier(s) with clear water after each use and dry them.

For Acquastop barriers, ensure the ground or installed profile is clean and free of debris that could create leaks under the EPDM gaskets. For Watergate, refer to the pictograms on the membrane or the case for orientation and placement. Ensure there are no obstacles preventing full contact between the barrier and the ground, which could cause leaks.

For Acquastop products, the warranty is 2 years. It covers hinges, sealing joints that are damaged upon leaving the factory, a defective anti-theft system, or any other defective mechanical element. Normal wear and tear of the sealing joints is not covered.

For Watergate products, the warranty is 5 years. It covers tears in a partition or the fabric, such as a seam that comes undone.

Yes. Acquastop barriers have the advantage of being equipped with an anti-theft lock system.

It depends on the situation and requires an expert assessment. However, a height of 700 mm is recommended to easily step over the barrier in case of evacuation and to allow emergency services to intervene.
